The renovated Swimming pool at the Chandigarh Press Club will be functional from 3rd April 2009. Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, MP and Union Minister of State for Finance will formerly inaugurate the swimming pool and the new filter plant complex on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 4:30 p.m.

Club condoles death of Capt Kanwaljit Singh

The Governing council of Chandigarh Press Club on Sunday, expressed condolence over the sad demise of Punjab cooperation minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh in a road accident.
The Governing council headed by Sarabjit Singh Pandher in a statement said that Capt Kanwaljit Singh was an honorary member of Chandigarh Press Club and he was considered a friend of media fraternity. His death has shocked the journalists and in this hour of grief, Chandigarh Press Club expressed sympathy with the family of departed leader.

Australian High Commission and Chandigarh Press Club are jointly holding a Two-Day seminar on:

Regional Press: Power, Reach and Influence on 19-20 March, 2009

at Hotel Mount View, Sector 10.

The Seminar will be inaugurated by Mr. John McCarthy, Australian High Commissioner and Prof Robin Jeffery, Emeritus Professor, Australian National University, Canberra and La Trobe University; Melbourne will be the Keynote speaker.
The Governing Council of the Chandigarh Press Club invites all members to participate in the seminar. Since, the event is being held at Hotel Mount View, it is important to know how many of you would like to attend. There is no charge on participation. Participation will require registration, so those interested should register with the club indicating one or both days of attendance. Registration will be open till closing hours of March 16.
